OUR STORY

Italian-born Luca Tortora and wife Annalisa founded Visco Fine Foods in 1998. The vision of offering quality wholesale food accessible to all holds true today. Visco sources and manufactures innovative, selected fine foods for catering venues, restaurants, hotels and delicatessens.

Speciality products range from artisan cured meats, pungent cheeses, pasta, rice to indulgent couverture chocolate from Belgium. Many of the Visco products come from traditional cuisine that has been enjoyed for centuries in Europe, and reflect the international heritage of Luca and his team.

VISION

Luca regularly consults with prominent Australian and European chefs to assist them with sourcing fine, traditional ingredients from Europe and Australia. The Visco team loves nothing better than helping customers adapt various products and ingredients to the customer’s own cooking style, assisting them to make our wholesale food “their own”.

From the early days with a team of just two, the family-owned company now employs a staff of 20 including chefs, sales consultants and operations personnel to service customers in Australia and around the world. Recently the company moved to a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hemmant, Brisbane, as a result of substantial business growth and the launch of the company’s own Val d’Elsa brand – a delicious range of sauces, salads, relishes and antipasti made to extracting standards on site.

Luca and his chefs are constantly developing new Val d’Elsa products to tempt the tastebuds of Australians as well as overseas markets such as Hong Kong – where locals have taken a keen liking to the Val d’Elsa Beetroot Relish, among other products. At Visco, fine food is not a luxury – it’s a way of life.
